Internet Download Manager is a commonly used download application for downloading different types of files easily from the internet. Most of us use it to download youtube videos.
Actually it does not work at its optimum speed and you can set its speed to get high speed downloads. Now, coming to the point, you can change some of its settings and can attain much HIGHER SPEED.
Here's a quick guide to it :
Make sure you have the latest version of Internet Download Manager (IDM) installed on your computer. IDM has a built-in feature that allows the program to update automatically. If the application is opened at the moment, restart it after closing. The automatic updates will start, after you which you will experience better download results.
1. Go to “Options” from the menu of IDM.
2. Select “Connections.”
3. Click the “Connection Type” drop-down menu. Here you will find the current bandwidth selected for IDM. You can change it to a higher bandwidth to increase the download speed. You can set it to “Unlimited” or input a specific speed in figures.
4. Set the “Default Max Conn. Number” parameter in the connections tab of the application. No matter what value is assigned here, change it to a higher number, so IDM creates more connections with server when downloading different parts of files. Click “OK” to save settings.
5. Exit from IDM and open it again. Now you will experience faster downloads due to the changed settings.
